If it happened, it was always meant to happen

Read this if little mistakes embarrass you.

Why does that phrase sound like something out of a time-travel movie?😄

I'm probably sounding like a broken record right now but “mistakes will happen.” So why not just find a way to be okay with making them?

Imagine this scenario:

You get invited to a party, most of your friends aren't going to be there and being novel to the whole social festivities, you're instantly overwhelmed with the desire to impress people you don't even know!

Then, in that pivotal moment when their eyes are on you, the worst happens. You stumble a bit, just enough to keep you mortified for about 30 seconds while you laugh it up to cover up the blunder but deep down, you're still bothered by it.

Now, did that sound familiar? I hope it does. I can't be the only one who's experienced it, right?😅

Anyway, what's the point?

Well, here it goes: YOU CAN'T CHANGE WHAT HAPPENED NO MATTER HOW BADLY YOU WISH IT DIDN'T HAPPEN.

If you can't change it, what other option is there?

You could always accept that it was meant to happen. It really is that simple, and I know it's possible because it's what I do.

The sheer inevitability of those small uncomfortable moments should sink in. They should all be treated as “just another thing that was always meant to happen.”

That way you gradually realize that no matter what you try to do to avoid it, it'll surely happen.

Practical advice: Give yourself a 15-second rule and have it at the back of your mind to always remember that no matter how bad it seems, in the grand scheme of things, it was always meant to happen.
