Take a positive spin on every mistake you make

Read this if your mistakes bother you.

Think about any time you made a mistake that just wouldn't let you go about your day.

I bet it didn't feel good, but it's fine.

By the end of this post you'll feel better if not elated about the mistakes you make.

What are mistakes anyway?

One thing I like to do when I figure out something I struggle with is I try to give it a simple definition. That way it doesn't seem unfamiliar or complex.

So here we go; Mistakes are life's greatest teachers.

That's it. Don't believe me?

You don't have to take my word for it, just take a look at every single time your mistakes have prevented you from making similar ones.

What I, no... what we easily forget during such times is that we were never made to be perfect. If we were, there'd be no point in living.

Think about it, and I'm trying really hard to be clear on this so it doesn't come off as some half-baked transformation advice.

Imagine you were made perfect... Take a minute or two to just try to absorb that feeling.

I bet it feels good. But one thing is, that'll never happen. Face it. You will never be that person BECAUSE then you wouldn't have anything to learn.

And that's what I'm getting at. Learning is the very core of existence. If you don't learn you can't evolve, if you don't evolve, why are you alive? Why would any of us be alive?

I can't remember how many times I've beaten myself up over a simple fluke. I couldn't possibly keep count. I'm probably making a mistake right now and I haven't noticed.

We make mistakes every minute of everyday that it's supposed to feel natural but it isn't, why?

Because it's only the ones we allow ourselves to feel that gets to us.

Mistakes are part of who we are, it's dare I say, the most effective learning guide. Don't burn yourself out trying to avoid mistakes. Instead, work harder to learn from them.

Practical Advice:  At the end of each day, take a note of the mistakes you made on that day and see if you can come up with a way to make a better decision next time.
